Hi friend!

I’m Emma, traditional birth attendant and Ayurvedic postpartum doula located in Snohomish, Washington and serving the greater Seattle region. My passion is witnessing and supporting mothers in the transformational period that is birth and postpartum, and encouraging the acceptance of birth as a normal, physiological process that our body was designed to go through.

I believe that birth thrives in a calm, stress-free, uninterrupted atmosphere with minimal intervention, and that our bodies and intuition can be trusted due to the way our Creator designed birth to work. One of my greatest loves is nurturing postpartum women through an abundance of nourishing food and traditional Ayurvedic practices+medicine.

When I am not serving as a doula in the greater Seattle region, I love exploring the Puget Sound with my husband, spending time with my family and in-laws, reading a hefty stack of books (often about birth and postpartum), and spending time cooking nourishing meals in my kitchen.

Testimonials

  • I highly recommend Emma’s doula services. Unfortunately I had a sudden preterm labor resulting in a c-section. Thankfully, Emma was able to come at the drop of a hat and provided live-in postpartum support. Emma instinctively cared for everyone in our home during our challenging transition time. She prepared wonderful homemade meals, helped clean, cared for the children, and tended to my physical, mental, and emotional needs. I seriously do not know if I could have made it through those times without Emma to lean on.

  • Emma was my doula for the birth of both of my sons. Emma had a few visits with me beforehand, and sent me so many helpful messages as well as thoroughly answered every question I had. She sent me different birthing positions to try as well which I truly believe was such an essential part of my births. She was there all night, every step of the way, and during the most intense parts she was there holding my hand, rubbing my back, talking me through breaths. Soon after my birth Emma came to my home and prepped an Epsom salt bath and let me rest in there while she cared for my newborn and toddler. She also cooked an amazing wholesome stew and made me a warm milky drink. I can’t talk enough about how wonderful it was. Emma is an amazing doula. I didn’t know her personally before she helped me with Mason, but now I consider her a dear friend. She has so much insight and wisdom and is a kind, gentle, servant with a tinkly laugh that instantly makes you feel connected with her. My husband and I cannot recommend her enough.

  • Emma filled the whole room with support the day I gave birth to my son at home. She made such an effort before and after he came to be a peaceful, informative and overall kind presence that was a healing balm to me throughout my pregnancy and postpartum journey. We met a handful of times before my son was born and aligned so beautifully on our ideologies around birth. I was so grateful to have her next to me as I labored and pushed, an essential addition to my birth team. After Judah was born my family and midwives enjoyed a homemade nourishing soup and pie Emma baked off in my oven that I enjoyed in bed soon after he was born. I will never ever forget how much that meant to me. To this day I know she is in my corner and she is a wellspring of wisdom!
